A slapdash of various little bits and pieces.
- Lake of Rage has a small culture entry at the top to illustrate what we're setting out to do. I mentioned the shell middens and canonised it alongside GSC.
- Move constants now have their 16-bit IDs set up
- Palfixed Feradactyl and Pupperon, fixed former's credit with confirmation from pokeoctober
- Wiped out the must be 8-bit errors on various Pokemon's `base_stats.asm` files.
- Fixed some aspects of Strong Arm and Water Sport calling garbage data; this was due to them using 8-bit comparison systems where there needed to be 16-bits. This fixes a good bit of their HM usage. Battle bugs need resolving (presumably due to a lack of gfx?)
- Fixed AI scoring with Water Sport (hopefully)
- Updated the readme with some of our progress over the past 5 months.
I have compiled the credits for each individual sprite, designed to protect any potential uncredited plagiarism from JEP's sprite database.
We now list the credits and grab locations of sprites within the respective Pokemon's folder, with links to the spriter's social media (that I could find).
By doing this, anyone taking sprites from JEP has zero excuse to not keep the credit file, ensuring that anyone clearly taking from JEP will have to answer many probing questions should they do so.
Intention is to eventually produce a PMD community-style sprite database once JEP is finished. Let's say it's a love letter to the community that has very much allowed this ROM Hack to exist.
This adds Rock Climb functionality to Strong Arm and Dive functionality to Water Sport, as discussed in the server. HMs have been added, but we need 16bit Items to add Wind Ride, and I haven't finished their functionality.
The Rock Climb tile is a bit terrible, it's not easy to notice. Maybe change so that it works well with yellow or another colour?
This does not build due to issues with effect_commands.asm, but since Zeta is meant to be working on the mapping and Water Sport anyway, it seems to be up his alley.
I ported over much of the underwater assets Rangi was using as they looked very pretty. I imagine it'll be fun to utilise going forward. May as well, right?
I shall now lay down in a dark room.

This adds Ajawalcan's new name, using Mayan grammar and vocabulary resources to produce something truly befitting of the Kukulcan Pokemon. Before, we conflated Aztec and Mayan theology and have now chosen to squarely focus on the Mayan side of things, with Ruddy Ruins scheduled to be based on Chichen Itza.

s/o Crystal Legacy for their DV & Hidden Power display code, which got this off the ground. Credited aptly.
I modified what they had with Stat Exp, but the menu is a little jank and scrolling is buggy. Someone wanna pick that up?
- Adds Mamoswine, alongside the new Hirsuswine, a slower and more tanky alternate evolution. Design by me, sprite by zuperZACH.
- Adds the framework for an alternate Yanma evolution, currently dubbed Pending03. It's designed to be based on a clubtail, albeit one that uses its tail like an actual weapon.
- Adds the framework for Emordrome, an alternate Normal/Ghost Girafarig evolution where the dark head grows and takes control. In order to not make the line any more complicated, Calflac has been removed entirely.
- Added cries for the Cubburn line.
This adds some infrastructure for the Safari Game, specifically;
- The guards who let you in; the ticket is given and Safari Balls are provided; you also get the leaving early and so on. Bit janky at times.
- Infrastructure for the step system, albeit unfinished; the steps aren't initially counted and there's no kicking out process yet.
All in all, it's now playable, but the loss conditions are not yet finished. I shall now lay down in a dark room.
The act of naming your mother was restored by adding a name substitution system to WRAM, thus allowing the Dude to occupy a slot naturally. I believe Red and Blue's names are unused too, but just to be safe, I left them alone. Using this means we can technically have battles that substitute names all the time, so this is really neat.
Reworked the first rival encounter scene to have him treat you like an idiot, blurt out what you name your mother, tease you, and piss you off. Arguably flows better than the original and makes more sense. Also, now the mother's name is placed in various spots.
Only concern really is seeing the default name in the phone contact. Feel free to change that if you want, but it's hard to place due to situations where the player leaves without talking to her, so take care!
Unsure where to place these yet, made something on the spreadsheet to find my bearings. All I know is I want it!
I had to change `endtext` to an sjump as we don't actually have that script in our ROM. Polished is very different to pokecrystal. Luckily, everything else went off without a hitch.
This decensors the Fisher, Beauty, Female Swimmer, Medium, and Sage sprites, to match the Japanese version. The Elder class will use the censored Sage sprite, though it's possible a demake of the HGSS one could be in order down the line.
Nihon badges now count and Sepia City has its Gym Leader. All fully functional.
I've also distributed the transfer-exclusive Kanto Pokemon items to their relevant owners, plus the Polkadot Bow.
This adds a ton of overworld sprites, some from KEP, others from SW97/99, for you all to mess around with. It also adds the prototype trainer sprites from SW99 to use with the old trainer classes, though some don't have modern GSC shading.
Unfortunately, the SW99 trainer sprites need palfixing and my PC can't be fucked running it for some reason.
Lots of potential here, particularly with making Mediums now use their distinct sprites, and having Channelers to fit into the mix. I'll be using these when fleshing out the Haunted House and Lavender Crypt.
South Guy still doesn't have a name, so internally, they are called such.
Green from KEP/TPP Anniversary Red has been imported too, because she's awesome like that.
Yes this commit has the cat sprite. All rise for the best thing ever.
I've made the credits more precise and transparent, and added the KEP Open Source Mission Statement that's used to govern its content reuse. I've also noted who is directly affiliated with the project and who isn't, in case someone from left-field gets asked weird questions.
This adds the restoration of the Safari Zone from Pokemon October. There isn't a proper place for this yet, but there will be soon!
It seems to have issues with tiles, which I am assuming to either be the tilemap clearing or something relating to Zeta's custom ball palettes, since I had to add the Safari Ball. Can you get to that, @ZetaNull?
2ff835730b
also fixed the unnumbered route errors.
I forgot to commit a bunch of this...
These were my favourite sprites from October and Reforged, bringing down a good chunk of the workload on things. Made sure to update the credits to the best of my ability as well.
Also includes zuperZACH's Clodsire and Mismagius sprites!
Adds sprites for Electivire, Magmortar, Honchkrow, Porygon-Z and Wyrdeer!
Had to rearrange some things in both main.asm and layout.link but hopefully it won't break anything...
- Fixed various tile port issues and made various visual enhancements. Now generally closer to the Kanto styled Viridian Forest.
- Added Lass Ikue, a trainer referencing Ikue Otani, to the area where the Yellow Lass was. Required updating the spriteset but it seems fine.
- Added parties for all the trainers, which were missed on the initial import.
- Fixed various inaccurate capitalisations.
- Fixed gate warps. Considering adding a Honey girl here if we ever do that?
- Restored various RBY NPCs in the Pewter and Viridian gates to the forest, saying largely the same stuff. Just keeps things move lively.
This restores the old Egg Ticket functionality, albeit without the funky animation. I renamed the area the Ticket Corner on that account. Lore relating to it has been restored.
I also fixed the fossil items (they're regular items now) and updated the readme.
Adds Nuuk's lovely sprites for Azurill, Leafeon, Glaceon, Sylveon, Magnezone, Togekiss and Farigiraf. Adjustments were made to Farigiraf's shiny palette to more closely match the official colours.
Fixed a glitch with Luxwan's palette.
Also, updated the README with additional sprite credits.
The Egg Ticket still needs its function to be usable, but is now at least obtainable in some way. This makes Buena's Password much, much more interesting.
This replaces the Goldenrod Pokemon Centre with the PCC. Further implementations haven't been made yet, it just exists.
Things to implement:
- Egg Ticket exchange
- GS Ball
- Regional trades
- Unreferenced text
Need to pay a closer look when I have actually got my PC with me...
This adds the lost RBY trainer classes and a few unused ones. No sprites because I keep messing up the alpha channels among other things. I shall simply ask Martha.
Also spruced up the readme slightly.
